32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Are Land Rover Range Rover models reliable?
Owners and experts consistently point to the Range Rover's comfort, luxury, and strong performance, along with its smooth ride and upscale cabin. The model's broad appeal comes from the way it blends refinement with capability, which is a big part of why shoppers keep coming back to it.
- Owners rate the Land Rover Range Rover between 4.25 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.
Long-term ownership can bring higher upkeep costs, so a careful inspection and strong service history matter a great deal for used buyers.
What should I look for when buying a used Land Rover Range Rover?

| Model Year | Accident-Free % |
|---|---|
| 2027 | 100% |
| 2026 | 96.6% |
| 2025 | 95.8% |
| 2024 | 93.3% |
| 2023 | 91.5% |

| 2021 | 81.5% |
| 2020 | 77.1% |
| 2019 | 76.2% |
| 2018 | 73.4% |
| 2017 | 70.2% |
| 2016 | 66.1% |
| 2015 | 64.4% |
| 2014 | 66.2% |
Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2019 models.
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, a driver attention monitor, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system.
- Infotainment: all 2025 Range Rover models come standard with a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster and 13.1-inch touchscreen, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard as well.
- Fuel efficiency: the Range Rover’s base turbo-six powertrain achieves EPA-rated fuel economy of up to 21 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway), while V8 models are rated at 19 mpg combined (16 mpg city, 23 mpg highway) in standard tune and 18 mpg combined (16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway) in more-powerful SV spec.
Which Land Rover Range Rover trim should I buy?
The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover offers these trims:
- SE: This is the entry point, and it comes standard with 21-inch wheels, a 13.1-inch touchscreen, a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and standard driver-assistance features. It is the best-value choice if you want the core Range Rover experience with the broadest body-style availability.
- Autobiography: This trim adds 22-inch wheels and opens the door to more upscale equipment, including the available 35-speaker Meridian audio system with active noise cancellation. It suits you if you want a richer luxury feel without stepping all the way to the top grade.
- SV: This is the most exclusive trim, with 22-inch wheels and the most powerful V8 tune in the lineup. It is the pick if you want the most performance and the most elevated Range Rover presentation.
What Land Rover Range Rover do most buyers choose?
The Land Rover Range Rover years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2022.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 1,824 | 33.1% |
| 2023 | 1,389 | 33.5% |
| 2022 | 1,319 | 34.3% |
| 2025 | 1,091 | 32.4% |
| 2020 | 987 | 33.6% |
| 2019 | 928 | 33.3% |
These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right configuration. They also sit close enough to the newest generation to deliver the Range Rover's modern luxury and capability in a more accessible used-car price band.
What is the Land Rover Range Rover's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2021 | $40,757 | −17.95% |
| 2020 | $34,187 | −16.69% |
| 2019 | $29,553 | −15.91% |
| 2018 | $27,734 | −14.9% |
| 2025 | $118,180 | −13.89% |
| 2014 | $16,417 | −13.43% |
| 2017 | $21,252 | −13.37% |
| 2023 | $88,190 | −12.85% |
| 2016 | $19,009 | −12.2% |
| 2024 | $103,778 | −11.9% |
| 2015 | $17,987 | −11.86% |
| 2022 | $55,665 | −11.6% |
The table shows broad year-over-year price declines across every model year listed. That pattern is helpful for used buyers because it means recent Range Rover models have moved down meaningfully from a year ago, while older examples continue to sit at lower absolute prices. The smallest changes are still double-digit drops, so the overall trend remains firmly in buyers' favor.
The 2022, 2015, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

While my 2012 is a Sport, it is in the same category. Let me start with, it is one of the best vehicles I have owned. And I have owned a few. Mercedes, Cadilac, Nissan etc. The 2012 I purchased used, with 35K and now at 178k. This vehicle has NEVER left me stranded, nor has it cost me my retirement to maintain. When you see the bad reports, it is likely because those owners only understood two things, a gas and brake pedal, and drove their vehicles until lights came on. When a RR is maintained, it will last longer than any of its competitors. So this car has be been a great value and enjoyable driving experince.

Why it stands out
The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover stands out as Land Rover’s flagship luxury SUV, and it remains a strong example of a no-compromise vehicle. It is described as the definitive word in “ultra-luxury sport utility vehicle,” with superlative cabin space, luxury appointments, power, and capability. Its stylish design also helps give it a distinctive presence.
What keeps the 2020 Range Rover relevant is the way Land Rover has continued to update it over time. The available powertrain lineup has been expanded to six different options, and the model has also gained new infotainment and safety technologies. That breadth of choice and equipment makes it appealing to buyers who want luxury and capability in one package, though the technology is noted as unintuitive. Owners also praise its comfort, smooth ride, and high-end features, while some report high repair costs and poor gas mileage.
